The Library Files - InfoLocate

The Library Files - InfoLocate

You're all familiar with the library catalogue AdvoCAT, but what if I told you there was another option. Brought to you by the LSUC | Great Library, InfoLocate lets you search for books, journals, online CPD articles, e-books, e-journals, and websites. When searching you can refine your results to a resource type, subject, author, library, and publication date.

I think one of the best features of this discovery tool is that you can you see how many items any given library has on a particular subject area. The other nice feature is that search results for a text, in most cases, will display the book cover.

InfoLocate also contains the full text of all the individual LSUC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) articles since 2004, that's over 6,000+ CPD articles. The articles that are 18 months or older are free to download, and print. Online access to the newer articles (post 18 months) is available, and so is a pdf download option (secured view - no printing).

Articles from CPD programs can also be found on AccessCLE. Articles older than 18 months are free. More recent articles cost between $25 and $35.

The LSUC CPD materials offer a great starting point for any research project, but also provide practical advice from experts in the field.
